Why you should be scared of a Trump presidency
Why you need to read this article The most important thing you can do to keep your mind and heart safe is to never forget that Donald Trump is President Donald Trump Donald John TrumpTrump: ‘The people are angry with me, they are angry’ Iran sanctions and Trump’s response to the Iran deal are just a few of the many things the President is capable of doing, according to a former top US intelligence official.
“It’s a great time to be alive right now,” said former NSA chief Keith Alexander, who served as the director of the agency during the 2016 election.
“We need to take the time to appreciate that this is a very different America.”
Trump has unleashed a series of inflammatory tweets targeting journalists and politicians, including calling them “disgusting” and a “disaster” and calling for their deaths.
But the President also used his Twitter account to push his agenda, including to repeal or roll back major pieces of his predecessor’s healthcare reforms, including the Affordable Care Act, as well as an immigration reform law known as the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program.
“The people that were in the trenches, they knew what the hell was going on,” Alexander told Entertainment Weekly in a video interview.
“I think a lot of the media and a lot the people that voted for Trump, they didn’t really understand that, but they understood that they had a chance.
They didn’t know what was coming next.”
Despite Trump’s aggressive rhetoric, Alexander said he did not expect the President to win the White House.
“There is a sense in the Trump administration that there are going to be some pretty serious challenges, but at the end of the day, this is just a normal, healthy presidency.
I think the President understands that,” Alexander said.”
I think that he is confident, and that his instincts are really good.
I’m not saying that his policies are always the best, but I think his instincts, when it comes to these things are very, very good.”
The former top NSA official said Trump’s administration is more open to cooperation than many previous administrations, citing the President’s efforts to push through the US trade deals with China, which were also critical for the tech industry.
Alexander also said that the Trump Administration will have to face the fact that some of his controversial comments are not going to make it past the White, House, which he said is “more polarized” than any previous administration.
“You know, there are things that you can say and things that people say that are controversial,” he said.
“You can have disagreements on social media and things like that, and it doesn’t really change the fact of the fact the White house is more polarized.”
Alexander also warned that Trump’s foreign policy will likely cause problems for the US.
“We’re going to have to deal with the fact this President has not only been very active in promoting isolationism and protectionism, but has also been an isolationist and protectionist and isolationist on international relations and on human rights,” Alexander warned.
“And we’re going have to make sure that the policies that are implemented that are going forward will not be conducive to international cooperation and that the US is a beacon for global human rights, global economic justice, and global human security.”
The President also has to face questions about his business practices, including allegations of financial fraud, and his ties to Russia, which is still considered a threat to the US as well.
“As the President has demonstrated in the past, he can be pretty ruthless and can take advantage of those who are vulnerable,” Alexander added.
“And there’s nothing I’m more proud of, more grateful for, than that America is a great place to be in that it doesnt require people to be dependent on government for anything.
I know that he does, and I know the world is a better place for that.”
